Difference between PCBA and PCB

PCB translated into Chinese is called printed circuit board, because it is made by electronic printing, so called “printed” circuit board. PCB is an important electronic component in the electronic industry, is the support body of electronic components, is the carrier of electrical connection of electronic components. PCB has been widely used in the production and manufacturing of electronic products, the reason why it can be widely used.

The unique characteristics of PCB are summarized as follows:

1, wiring density is high, small size, light weight, conducive to the miniaturization of electronic equipment.

2, because the graphics have repeatability and consistency, reduce wiring and assembly errors, save equipment maintenance, debugging and inspection time.

3, conducive to mechanization, automatic production, improve labor productivity and reduce the cost of electronic equipment.

4, the design can be standardized, conducive to exchange.

The Printed Circuit Board (PCBA) is a Printed Circuit Board (PCB), Printed Circuit Board (SMT), and DIP plug-in (DIP). Note: SMT and DIP are both ways of integrating parts on a PCB. The main difference is that SMT does not require drilling holes in the PCB. In the DIP, the PIN PIN of the part is inserted into a hole already drilled.

SMT surface mount technology mainly uses SMT machine to mount some small parts on PCB board. Its production process includes PCB board positioning, printing solder paste, SMT machine mounting, back welding furnace and production inspection. DIP, or “plug-in,” is the insertion of a part on a PCB board, which is the integration of a part in the form of a plug-in when the part is larger and not suitable for mount technology. Its main production process is: paste gum, plug-in, inspection, wave soldering, brush version and made inspection.

As can be seen from the above introduction, PCBA generally refers to a processing process, which can also be understood as the finished circuit board. PCBA can be counted only after all the processes on the PCB board are completed. A PCB is an empty printed circuit board with no parts on it. In general, PCBA is the finished board; PCB is bare board.
